The once-cozy ambiance of Starbucks, a global coffeehouse chain, has been disrupted by a wave of labor unrest. Thousands of Starbucks baristas across the United States have engaged in strike actions, protesting against what they perceive as unfair labor practices, inadequate staffing, and a company that prioritizes profits over its employees’ well-being.

The Starbucks strike movement gained momentum in late 2021 when a store in Buffalo, New York, became the first to unionize. Since then, a growing number of Starbucks workers have followed suit, seeking representation through the union Starbucks Workers United.
